Video

The video installation is the result of constant change. In the first version from 26 April, different clips are shown one after the other, with fullscreen text at the end.
In the version of 12 May, clips are shown simultaneously for the first time: Arranged evenly in a grid, up to 6 clips are visible at the same time, the dissolving text is placed below the images and is less present.
Then, in the version of 3 July, the arrangement is reduced to only three clips next to eachother without any text. The dramaturgy of the videos themselves, as well as the overlapping sound, also differ at most from the first versions. The handheld camera work, the unstaged backdrop and the use of public places remain a constant, however.

The attempt to have female protagonists of different ages is also reflected in the development.
Of course this is just a brief deviation into the overall picture, the individual clips have also changed. Either they were reshot, edited differently or sorted out.
Several ideas for the installation were tested and discarded: The final decision for only one, instead of three beamers, and for a simple wooden board as a projection surface was a rather long process. The wooden board leaning against the wall should formally relate to the collection and reflect the ordinary. The beamer should have little presence and yet not be hidden.

Testing this setting in the room led to a final change in the arrangement of the clips, which no longer appear next to each other on a horizon line, but vary in height, depending on what is visible.
As well additional pauses were added, in which the sound announcing what is to come raises the question of what that might be.
